Average Piercing Healing Times
Piercing healing times vary from person-to-person. Above are approximate healing times for healthy piercings on most people, but keep in mind that your piercing may heal more quickly or take even longer. Continue suggested aftercare for at least the amount of time listed below for your piercing.

At the end of the healing time, twice-daily cleaning is no longer required, although once-a-day cleaning is still suggested. When your piercing is healed, jewelry can safely be changed but it shouldn’t be left out for longer than it takes to switch jewelry. Even once the hole becomes permanent it can still shrink and make jewelry reinsertion more difficult. If you like your piercing, keep jewelry in it.

Our Body Jewelry

At Chicago Ink Tattoo & Body Piercing, we offer a wide selection of high-quality body jewelry for a variety of piercings and personal styles. Our goal is to provide our clients with jewelry that is not only գեղեցիկ and stylish, but also suitable for safe and comfortable wear.

We carry jewelry made from premium materials, including surgical stainless steel, implant-grade titanium, Grade 23 titanium, 14-karat gold, and bioplastic. Choosing quality materials is an important part of the piercing process and can help promote proper healing and long-term comfort.

All body piercings include standard starter jewelry. Additional jewelry upgrades and premium options may be available at an additional cost.

Requirements for Minor Piercings

At Chicago Ink Tattoo & Body Piercing, the safety and well-being of our clients is always our priority. For any piercing performed on a minor, a parent or legal guardian must be physically present throughout the process and must sign all required consent and release forms.

Both the minor and the parent or legal guardian must provide valid identification.

Acceptable Forms of Identification

For parents or legal guardians, acceptable government-issued photo identification includes:

• Driver's License

• State-Issued Identification Card

• Passport

• Military ID

For minors who are not yet of driving age, we may accept:

• Valid school photo ID along with an official birth certificate with a state seal.

Photocopies, screenshots, or expired forms of identification will not be accepted.

If the parent or legal guardian does not share the same last name as the minor, additional legal documentation may be required to verify the relationship. Depending on the situation, acceptable documentation may include a birth certificate, adoption paperwork, divorce or custody documents, or court-issued guardianship papers.

Chicago Ink Tattoo & Body Piercing reserves the right to request additional documentation when necessary to verify legal guardianship or parental consent.

Age Restrictions for Minors

We provide limited piercing services for clients between the ages of 13 and 17 when all parental consent and identification requirements have been met.

Babies 3 months+ Ear lobes only.

For minors in this age group, we offer select piercings including:

• Ear Piercings

• Facial Piercings

• Navel Piercings 14+

• Oral piercings are 14+

• Dermal piercings 14+

• Back dermals 16+

• Back surface 16+

• Snake eye 16+

• Frog eye 16+

For the safety of our clients and in accordance with our studio policies, we do not perform genital piercings on anyone under the age of 18.

Certain piercing services may also have additional age, anatomy, identification, or consent requirements. Our professional piercers reserve the right to decline any procedure when it is determined that it would not be safe or appropriate for the client.
